I dreamed I was with a deceased music artist I really like listening to, Juice WRLD and some old colleagues I used to work with, including an old friend of mine that no longer stays in communication with me. We were in a room with art paintings in it and there was a beverage station in the room with tea and coffee being served. I had made myself a cup of coffee and had nowhere to set it down. My old friend had told me to put it in a shallow plastic pink bowl that had been filled with water. The other people had also had their tea and coffee stacked on top of one another in the same bowl, with tea and coffee still in their cups. I had asked both my old friend, old colleagues and Juice WRLD why I had to put my coffee cup(with coffee still inside of it) in the bowl of water with other full cups stacked on top. They all had given me the same answer when I asked. They said it is because I had done something shameful in the past and that was to show that I carry that shame with me. Even if I am without them, I am to forever carry a shallow bowl or bucket with me to show shame of my past. I asked my old friend if there were a way to not have to carry it round with me anymore and he said yes…. But as he was about to tell me why, I woke up and never got the answer
Interpreting dreams is a deeply personal process, and meanings can vary greatly depending on the dreamer's experiences and emotions. However, here's a potential interpretation of your dream:
Deceased Music Artist (Juice WRLD): Seeing a deceased artist you admire can symbolize longing for creative inspiration or connection. Juice WRLD might represent certain emotions or messages communicated through his music that resonate with you deeply. It could also reflect a desire to connect with elements of the past that are meaningful to you.
Old Colleagues and Friend: The presence of old colleagues and an old friend indicates a reflection on past relationships and interactions. These figures may symbolize unfinished business, unresolved feelings, or a desire to reconnect with aspects of your past. The friend you no longer communicate with could particularly represent feelings of loss or change within your personal life.
Art Paintings: Art in dreams can symbolize self-expression and interpretation of life experiences. This setting might suggest a desire to better understand your feelings or reflect on how you express yourself in the world.
Beverage Station (Coffee and Tea): Coffee and tea often symbolize social interactions, relaxation, or comfort. The situation of having nowhere to set your coffee cup can represent feeling out of place or uncertain about where you belong in your current life phase.
Pink Bowl with Water (Carrying Shame): The pink bowl with water, described as a shallow place to hold your coffee, symbolizes carrying guilt or shame. The shared action of stacking cups in the bowl may suggest shared experiences or collective emotions with others, or the perception that others have similar burdens, yet maintain them publicly or openly.
Shameful Past: The notion of a past shame that you carry with you reflects inner guilt or unresolved feelings that you haven't fully faced or forgiven yourself for. The dream is highlighting specific self-reflection about your past actions and their impact on your present life.
Searching for Resolution: Your inquiry to your friend about how to free yourself from carrying the symbolic shame, just before waking up, indicates a subconscious desire to resolve these feelings, seeking relief or redemption from self-imposed guilt.
Overall Interpretation: Your dream suggests a struggle to reconcile parts of your identity and past actions that weigh on you emotionally. There appears to be a yearning to address and release unresolved guilt or shame linked to past experiences or relationships. The dream may be urging you to reflect on these feelings more openly and to consider pathways to forgiveness and self-compassion. In doing so, you might find the peace and clarity you're seeking to move forward without the burden symbolized by the shallow bowl.
